The black hole, that notion in astronomy of a place in space from which there is no return, has excited the minds of scientists for more than two hundred years. They poetically use the term “event horizon” to refer to the virtual membrane that separates a black hole from the rest of the universe. Any matter will pass through the event horizon into a black hole, but because of its incredibly strong gravity, nothing can leave it, not even light. A black hole has neither space nor time as we understand it. The card symbolically illustrates this theory.
